The rails of the chair are cut from solid Scottish oak. Wood is like solid carbon and this is a great way to store carbon for a potentially longer time than a trees rooted years.
Our timber comes from Scottish ‘working woods’. This protects our precious native woodlands and actively helps to build a healthy, resilient future for that woodland. Highly selective felling of a few very carefully selected trees allows continuous tree cover, whilst also encouraging regeneration and bio-diversity with zero waste. This way of sourcing timber is completely different to the industrial scale and clear fell decimation of forest found behind a lot of imported wooden furniture and timber.
