JW Anderson x Mackintosh x Angus Ross
A Collaboration.
Charles Rennie Mackintosh was commissioned to design furniture by Miss Cranston for her first tearoom at 114 Argyle Street Glasgow, opened in 1898.
One of five original stools was bought by the UK’s (some say the world’s) leading fashion designer Jonathon Anderson and he invited Angus to consider creating a Re-Edition for JW Anderson. The stool is a lovely panelled design, with heart shaped cut-out handles and a shaped seat. The original stool (above) was couriered to the workshop for a week of inspection earlier this year.
The stools were designed for The Billiards and Smoking Rooms (the male domains) situated above the Tearooms and Luncheon Rooms at Argyle Street.
We are making the stools in micro batches in natural oiled oak, our black Mackintosh finish, and hand-painted white.
Only available from JW Anderson on-line and in-store.
