Workshop and Woodland Open Weekend 2026

Old Castle Wood in late May.

Saturday 13th June and Sunday 14th June 2025

We are running an open weekend in collaboration with Woodland Heritage Charity.

On both days there will be a Workshop Open Morning (open to all), and in the afternoon, a Guided Woodland Walk followed by Workshop Tour. The afternoon MUST be booked in advance, and it is useful if you register interest in the open morning using the button below. There will be a small charge for the afternoon event and all proceeds will go to the Woodland Heritage Charity. Our woodland is mostly oak, with an understory of bluebells late May to early June. By mid-June the bluebells will be going over but there is always a lot to see in our wood.

The afternoon events are limited to 16 people - please book through Woodland Heritage/Ticket Master using the button below.

About the Open Morning
Visitors will be able to come into the workshop to look around and see work in progress in our workshop, in the centre of Aberfeldy. The workshop is small historic building with uneven floors, steep stairs and dust over two floors. If the workshop becomes very crowded, visitors may be asked to wait or come back, to make sure we can maintain safety in the workshop and allow everyone space to move around.

You will meet members of our small team of dedicated and highly skilled craftsmen, who use steam-bending and traditional cabinet-making techniques, to create exceptional curvaceous furniture for homes, gardens and public places.

About the Guided Woodland Walk and Workshop Tour.
At 2PM we will meet in the small village of Grandtully, and more details will be provided close to the event to all ticket holders.

Please book in advance.

There will be a guided walk in the fifty acre wood, lasting approximately 90 minutes, along paths with uneven ground and slopes. (Angus Ross sources timber for his furniture-making from this woodland). For ease of moving around the site, the group will be divided into two groups of eight.  The tour will finish back at Grandtully. For those who would love a longer walk there is the option of returning to Grandtully or Aberfeldy on foot. You are welcome to visit the workshop in the morning.
