Our new Prism Chair in Scottish ash with hand-twisted rush seat won Best Sustainable Product at DECOREX  2020.

Decorex is an international interior design show usually held in London and not surprisingly 2020 Decorex was a virtual show. We are presented a new collection with Design Nation - a selected membership organisation representing designers and craftspeople across the UK (and Angus is a Design Fellow). Design Nation presented thirteen of their members with new collections on the theme ‘Design Signatures’ and the showcase  includes ceramics, furniture, silver-smithing, textiles, and wall-based artworks.

The image below shows merino wool knitwear by BAKKA, porcelain by Caroline Couzens, silver by Alex Connor and our new Prism Chair in Scottish oak with upholstered leather seat and Prism shelving. Photography by Yeshen Venema and styling by Jessica Jung.

Prism Collection

Our new Prism Collection is an evolution of an earlier innovation. Angus has been slicing and steam-bending square section timber for a years but by starting with prisms (triangular sections) he has created interesting, delicate functional, arched under-structures to support a new range of furniture.

The Prism Collection includes a chair, a stool and side-table and shelving unit. All is hand-made to order in our Perthshire workshop. The collection is available in local sustainable oak and ash.

The Prism Chair is a triangular chair with steam-bent rest with options of three details plus three seat options; upholstered Italian leather seat, saddle leather and hand-twisted English rush.

The Prism Triangular Side Table (with silver by Alex Connor) and Prism Stool with rushed seat are seen below.

Prism Shelving is shown here in Scottish oak, with steam-bent arched stretchers at the back and  six shelves. The profile is curved and it is available in bespoke sizes.  Hand-made to order in our Perthshire workshop and available in local sustainable oak and ash.

The collection is natural, sustainable, recyclable, repairable, biodegradable and part of a circular economy promoting the understanding, sensitive managements and use or local native woodland.
