Y Chair

This our simplest chair and more like a stool with a back. It is part of our Y Collection, nominated for The Woods Awards BEST BESPOKE FURNITURE DESIGN in 2012. The range is based around a clever sliced and steam-bent Y component that retains the strength of the wood fibres making the Y Chair both robust and elegant. The Y component forms the legs and supports the seat and steam-bent curved back-rest. The component is brought through the seat and back-rest (and wedged) creating lovely end-grain details on the top of the back railing on the seat. Having three legs the Y Chair is stable on uneven floors. It is a very versatile chair and perfect for the kitchen. Y Chairs are made to order in Scottish oak and given a durable natural oiled finish.
