| Reception Desk - for the art gallery, Royal Pump Rooms, Leamington Spa
The desk reflects the gallery's previous function as a swimming pool and the rhythm and flow of light on water. There is a flowing wall of slumped and laminated glass panels, above which runs an oak counter dipping down and then rising higher to create a split level desk, separating out the differing functions, and allowing for maximum public contact including children and those in wheelchairs. The long arc provides a strong physical barrier, whilst allowing plenty of room for two personnel, and good ergonomic use of the required hardware. Glass by Jeff Bell - Hackney, London.
