Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum
These two case were designed to display the museum's costume accessories from the 18th and 19th centuries. These exhibits, being delicate, need to be kept in controlled conditions and out of continuous light, hence the requirement for an interactive case to encourage people to explore and open the doors and drawers. Designed around human proportions, the displays follow through from hats at the top to shoes at the bottom. In the museum, when the cases are walked past a light is triggered, illuminating the hats through the 'head hole' - on opening the doors, the hats start to rotate! width - 700mm depth - 750mm height - 1850mm |
